Statement from Ireland Information Group Sweden, 31/12/2009

Ireland Information Group Sweden sends it's new year greetings to all comrades in Ireland and especially the republican prisoners held in Maghaberry and Portlaoise prison and their families.

Facing 2010 we will continue our work to highlight the occupation of the northen part of Ireland aswell as continue to work to raise political awareness of the nature of the conflict and raising funds to support the prisoners and their families.

We also want to take the opportunity to thank all our friends who makes our work with our solidarity group worthwhile; comrades in Ireland, all our new members, sympathizers, readers and all of those who have showed up for our meetings, pickets and functions.

Be assured that without your money, work and interest and support our work would be a lot harder. This year have seen a record of fundraising for the republican prisoners, next year we hope to raise even more funds for the volunteers now imprisoned. For this we need your support, as members or guests to our activities.

We will see more of you in 2010 and we would urge everybody of you who have interest in our group and the conflict to join us and be a member and such making the true solidarity more alive.

We further promise to continue our work to highlight the occupation of Ireland during 2010 and we hope that you will continue to support our work and help to spread the awareness of the situation of today.

We made progress 2009, both with more members and more activities, gladly this has also been the case in Ireland. 2009 saw the "normalization" finally fall like a house of cards on it's own impossibility with the british army and institutions still ruling the 6 cos.

We hope this development will continue in 2010 and with this we will continue to grow and such reinforce our solidarity work for all true republican groups working every day for a socialist republic and reunification of Ireland.

Beir Bua!
